The Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria has prepared a new package of military assistance to Ukraine,said the general director of the ministry Todor Tagarev.
In early November, the Bulgarian parliament approved the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and in December ratified an agreement between the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on military assistance to Kyiv.
"It is true that Bulgaria is preparing new military aid to Ukraine."
According to the minister, this tranche will be comparable to the first package in terms of the number and type of weapons. The minister explained: "We take out of the storage facilities what is in a usable condition, still usable, but more than 30-40 years old." According to the minister, in the near future the package will be proposed for approval by the Council of Ministers.

Earlier, Russia sent a letter to NATO countries regarding the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said any shipment of weapons destined for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia. Russia's foreign ministry said NATO countries were "playing with fire" by supplying weapons to Ukraine. A spokesman for the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, noted that sending weapons from the West to Ukraine will not contribute to the success of Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have negative consequences.
