The developers of the Web3 project Notcoin decided to abandon the idea of creating a clicker game in order to focus on a more sustainable model. The creator of the game, Alexander Plotvinov, spoke about this in an interview with The Block. He noted that “sneakers” do not provide long-term success and do not contribute to a stable income.
“I don't think this will last forever. From my point of view, only games with sustainable models will survive,” said Plotvinov.
Future plans
Over the next four years, the Notcoin team intends to turn the project into an independent center for launching third-party ecosystem projects. By interacting with these projects, users will be able to earn NOT tokens. It is expected that the number of such campaigns will reach 50-100 per week.
“It's similar to pharming, but not to provide liquidity, but to provide your time and attention. This model allows us to be sustainable because we do not need to issue new coins,” Plotvinov explained.
Other areas of development
In addition to ecosystem projects, developers are considering various directions to stimulate participants. These could be competitions, gaming platforms, or even a decentralized AI-powered university.
“We are experimenting with this. Some models will die, some will evolve and become successful,” he added.
Plotvinov also summed up the results of the Notcoin airdrop, noting that users received about 90% of the token emission. The main problem was the fight against bots, while the team gave priority to real and active players.
“At the end of the day, those who contributed more value to the ecosystem will receive more tokens. Even if we have millions of bots, their amounts will remain small,” the developer emphasized.
User activity and regional features
According to Plotvinov, 30% of Telegram Premium users play Notcoin. The highest demand for the game is observed in Russia, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, USA, Germany and Iran. However, identified users from Iran were not given the option to withdraw funds. The app gave priority to deposits to cryptocurrency exchanges and had restrictions on transferring funds to its own wallets.
According to CoinGecko, at the time of writing, the price of the NOT token is $0.01547 with a daily drop of 13.4%, and the capitalization is $1.57 billion. On June 17, the Notcoin team announced the completion of the NOT airdrop hallmark a month after listing on the largest cryptocurrency exchanges. Last week, the project's user base grew to 40 million people.
At the end of May, Notcoin launched a new type of missions for passively earning tokens.
