The idea for the hotel came from a member of the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) ApeCoin, known under the pseudonym DeSmart. He proposed converting one of the Bangkok hotels into a themed establishment in the style of BAYC and ApeCoin. The rooms will feature paintings of iconic monkeys from the NFT collection.
Cost and Financing of the Project
Implementation of the project will require significant investments. The cost of the project is estimated at 410,000 ApeCoin (APE), which is equivalent to $352,272 at the current exchange rate. These funds are planned to be spent on the purchase of building materials and repairs. The project is financed by cryptocurrency, which emphasizes its innovative nature.
If the project is successful, ApeCoin owners will be able to stay in a hotel for free, visit a rooftop bar and participate in exhibitions. Moreover, 50% of the hotel's income will be transferred to the account of the autonomous organization ApeCoin, which will create an additional incentive to support the project.
Crypto Community Support
The idea of DeSmart has received widespread support among members of the crypto community. Nearly 89% of the 5.4 million APE owners supported the hotel proposal. Voting on this issue will last until August 1, and preliminary results indicate a high probability of approval of the initiative.
If the project is approved, this will be a significant step in the integration of cryptocurrency technologies and the real sector.
