Payment infrastructure platform Mercuryo has announced the launch of a new service enabling the conversion of fiat money into cryptocurrency for major banks and payment providers in Indonesia. The move aims to strengthen financial inclusion and integrate digital assets into the country's traditional financial system.

On July 22, Mercuryo announced its integration with two leading banks in Indonesia - Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI). The company's solutions are also included in the Indonesian Quick Response Code Standard (QRIS) and are supported by cashless payment system and e-wallet provider Ovo. This will allow users of these banks to easily convert Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) into cryptocurrency.

New Opportunities for Indonesians

With the new integration, Indonesian users will be able to convert their fiat money into 40 different digital tokens, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Tether (USDT). BRI and BNI users will be able to receive a payment ID and instructions to purchase cryptocurrency through their bank accounts.

Also, using the QRIS system, users will be able to scan unique QR codes generated by Mercuryo for each transaction, ensuring a fast and convenient payment process. Ovo users will receive push notifications with instructions on how to purchase cryptocurrency.

Mercuryo plans to expand its services not only to retail users, but also to enterprises. The company is also looking to integrate with local businesses and centralized exchanges in Indonesia. This will allow a wider range of users and companies to participate in the crypto ecosystem.

Mercuryo Singapore chief executive Aviessa Khoo said the company's expansion into Indonesia will have a significant impact on the country's financial ecosystem. She emphasized that Indonesia has quickly become a major market and hub for cryptocurrencies, making it a natural launching pad for the expansion of Mercuryo's services in the Asian region.

Prospects and Future

According to Hu, Mercuryo's turnkey solutions will help expand financial inclusion, especially for the underbanked. This is especially true for people who do not have access to traditional payment systems.

Mercuryo's cryptocurrency services bridge the gap between digital assets and traditional financial systems. Through their platform, users will be able to easily convert their fiat money into cryptocurrency and participate in the crypto ecosystem.

The launch of Mercuryo's new services in Indonesia represents an important step in the integration of cryptocurrencies into the traditional financial system. This move will not only improve financial inclusion for a wide range of users, but will also strengthen Mercuryo's position as a leading payment infrastructure provider in Asia. With its expansion into the Asian market, the company is opening up new opportunities for users and businesses, supporting the transition from Web2 to Web3.
