Donald Trump Jr. has officially launched a Telegram channel called “The DeFiant Ones,” signaling the Trump family’s intention to enter the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. The new channel, which has already amassed nearly 13,000 subscribers, serves as a platform to announce their long-awaited cryptocurrency project.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Donald Trump Jr. confirmed the crypto project rumors, stating, “There are a lot of rumors floating around about our crypto project. For the truth and official news, join our official Telegram channel. Don’t rely on speculation — get the news directly here!”

The channel's administration also clarified that this is the only official platform for communication on this project, warning against fraud and counterfeiting: "Be vigilant and do not fall for the tricks of scammers - our team will never write to you first."

Donald Trump Jr. recently hinted at a new cryptocurrency project, which, according to him, will be aimed at eliminating inequality in banking services. Following his statement on X, especially against the backdrop of a teaser for a major announcement on August 7, active discussions began that the project could include a new meme coin. These rumors were fueled by his brother Eric Trump, who also announced a "big announcement" on X.

The Trump family's growing interest in cryptocurrencies coincides with Donald Trump's recent turn to support this industry. As a Republican presidential candidate, he is seeking to enlist the support of the crypto community, promising a loyal policy towards the industry.

At the recent Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Trump promised to make the U.S. the world's center for cryptocurrency if he is re-elected. He also said he would fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, who is considered anti-crypto, on his first day in office.
