Centralized cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 technology company OKX has announced a major update to its OKX Wallet, adding support for blockchain links known as Blinks. The expansion aims to support all Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-compatible blockchains, expanding the ability for users to interact with blockchain transactions across multiple networks.

Blinks are unique URL links that link to specific products and services on the blockchain. With the new integration, OKX Wallet users will be able to perform transactions, such as token swaps or staking, directly from their social networks without leaving the platform. This makes the process of interacting with blockchain products more convenient and intuitive.
One of the key aspects of the upgrade is the introduction of multi-chain capabilities, allowing Blinks to be used on different blockchains. This makes OKX Wallet the first wallet to extend Blinks functionality beyond Solana. Users will be able to transact from a variety of sites and platforms, adding additional flexibility and convenience.

OKX emphasizes the importance of security by implementing URL verification methods, encryption protocols, and real-time monitoring of suspicious activity. If Blinks are not approved by a Dialect partner, users will receive warnings about a possible threat.

Jason Lau, OKX’s Chief Innovation Officer, noted that this upgrade provides “a better way to access everything on the blockchain,” adding that the company is actively collaborating with partners in the Solana and EVM ecosystems to improve the user experience.

In addition to the technological advancements, OKX has also chosen Malta as its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) hub to ensure regulatory compliance in the European Union. This decision is due to the fact that OKX has a VFA Class 4 license in Malta, which allows OKX to provide EU users with regulated access to crypto assets.
