The program was unveiled at Coinfest Asia 2024 in Bali on Thursday. Ignit3 will be the first government-backed Web3 program in Indonesia. The initiative aims to develop the local Web3 startup ecosystem through mentorship, resource provision, and networking opportunities.

Lisk will partner with the Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital, a government-backed program in Indonesia that aims to boost innovation and entrepreneurship in the Southeast Asian region. The program will now focus on supporting and scaling Web3 projects and entrepreneurs in Indonesia.

Dominik Schwenzer, COO of Lisk, noted that the collaboration will not only help foster developer growth but also strengthen financial inclusion. He also emphasized that this will help build a strong crypto community in the region.

“Our new partnership with Gerakan Nasional 1000 Startup Digital and the launch of the Ignit3 program highlight our commitment to advancing Web3 innovation in emerging markets,” Schwenzer said.

Lisk also recently partnered with Backed Finance to accelerate the adoption of real-world assets (RWAs) in emerging economies, which has contributed to the growth of RWA usage in various applications.

Indonesia’s cryptocurrency and Web3 ecosystems have been rapidly growing in recent years, and the government has also shown positive support for their adoption.

For example, the Indonesian Commodity Futures Trading Supervision Agency (Bappebti) is preparing to transfer oversight of crypto assets to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) from January 2025.

In the Web3 space, the Indonesian government has shown interest in exploring blockchain applications, recognizing their potential in various sectors.
