Telegram Clicker Game Catizen Reaches 800,000 Paying Users in First 6 Months
The company claims 30 million total users and the leading revenue position among Telegram apps.
Telegram mini-app Catizen, a platform for tap-to-earn games and airdrops, announced on September 7 that it had attracted 34 million users in its first six months.
In a post on social media platform X, Catizen also claimed to be the most profitable app on Telegram, with 800,000 paying users, with an average revenue of $33 per user.
According to a press release, Catizen’s publisher, PLUTO Studio, recently received an undisclosed investment from The Open Platform, the largest group of developers on the TON network.
Rapid Growth
Catizen was launched in early 2024 as PLUTO’s first project. Since then, the game has also received support from HashKey and Binance Labs.
According to the blog, “HashKey will provide regulatory advice and technical support for Catizen’s blockchain infrastructure and other products under its management.”
The partnership marks HashKey’s entry into the TON ecosystem, with Catizen becoming the company’s first Web3 partner.
In an exclusive interview, HashKey Global Managing Director Ben El-Baz attributed HashKey’s involvement to the rapid growth of developers on the TON blockchain. He said this signals “a thriving period for the ecosystem.”
El-Baz also said that TON has offered Catizen and other projects a unique platform with an audience of 900 million users.
Clicker games, also known as “click to earn” games, have gained significant attention during 2024.
Another Telegram-based gaming platform, Hamster Kombat, recently surpassed the 300 million user mark. The Hamster Foundation, the game's creator, has announced the largest airdrop in history. To achieve this, the company will have to surpass the 2020 Uniswap airdrop, which distributed more than $6.43 billion.
