According to AFP (via Mileno), Napoleon Osorio, 39, used Bitcoin adoption to go from being unemployed to owning his own company in three years.

A Salvadoran Taxi Driver’s Bitcoin Success Story

Osorio told the news agency that he employs 21 drivers at his company, BitDriver. He also claimed that thanks to the rise in the price of Bitcoin, he has earned enough to “buy four cars to rent.”

The business owner has also become something of an evangelist for Bitcoin in the first country where BTC has been made legal tender.

He claims that his company is the “first taxi company” to accept Bitcoin in El Salvador. Osorio also noted that his success with Bitcoin has allowed him to “no longer have difficulties” paying for his teenage children’s education.

Osorio said that American Bitcoin proponent John Dennehy, founder of the NGO My First Bitcoin, “pushed him to accept cryptocurrency as payment.”

The BitDriver founder has since partnered with My First Bitcoin (known in El Salvador as Mi Primer Bitcoin).

This path seems to have led him to high places. Osorio recently updated his Instagram account with a photo of himself sitting in the Salvadoran presidential residence.
