The Bitget Wallet team announced the launch of OmniConnect, a toolkit for developers that will allow Telegram Mini Apps to integrate with multi-chain ecosystems, including TON, Solana, and EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine)-enabled blockchains. This innovation makes it possible to conduct transactions and signatures using Bitget Wallet across different blockchain networks.

Improved Integration for Telegram Mini Apps

Previously, Mini Apps could only interact with The Open Network (TON) blockchain. However, the new integration significantly expands the capabilities, turning Telegram into a full-fledged gateway to Web3. Representatives of Bitget Wallet note that this will significantly simplify the transition from Web2 to Web3.

According to Bitget Wallet COO Alvin Kan, Telegram’s Mini Apps have been limited to TON until now, making it difficult to interact with other blockchains. OmniConnect removes this barrier by enabling seamless interaction with multi-chain networks through Bitget Wallet. Kan hopes that this development will help create a more open Web3 ecosystem on the Telegram platform.

The company also plans to introduce additional initiatives to develop the Mini Apps ecosystem in the future.

Strengthening Cross-Chain Interoperability

As digital assets seek wider adoption, projects in Web3 are increasingly focused on cross-chain interoperability. One such move was Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin’s announcement on August 6 of plans to address interoperability issues on the Ethereum network, promising creative solutions.

On September 18, decentralized aggregator 1inch introduced the ability to allow cross-chain exchanges using both on-chain and off-chain liquidity. And on September 23, the MyTonWallet wallet, which runs on the TON blockchain, added support for Tron blockchain assets.

These initiatives reflect a general trend toward strengthening ties between different blockchain ecosystems, which is gradually bringing Web3 closer to mass use.
