Former US President Donald Trump has announced that the waitlist for participation in the World Liberty Financial (WLF) project, a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, is now open.

In a post on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter), Trump wrote: “We are committed to making America the crypto capital of the world! The waitlist for eligible individuals is now open - here is your chance to be a part of this historic event.”

The WLF project has begun the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process for users to purchase the WLFI governance token. In the future, it plans to launch its own token. According to Trump, this project is a bold initiative that aims to advance financial freedom and decentralization.

For now, the waitlist is open to accredited investors from the US and foreign citizens, which limits participation by retail US investors. Despite this, WLF emphasized that its mission remains to provide financial freedom for all. “We don’t forget about ordinary Americans. Our goal is to provide financial independence to everyone, regardless of their social status or financial status,” the project representatives said.

This position of the project reflects the current regulatory obstacles in the US, which limit participation in DeFi only to accredited investors. These restrictions are a consequence of existing financial policies.

However, the WLF team acknowledges the current situation, stating: “Due to outdated policies and regulations in the US, one waiting list is only for accredited investors, and another is for international participants. We are fighting for change so that all Americans can join World Liberty Financial and take part in the financial revolution.”

Thus, WLF aims to challenge the current regulatory system that limits participation in DeFi, promoting the idea of financial inclusion.

The 2024 elections are approaching

Trump’s activity within the WLF project coincides with his election campaign for the US president, where his main rival is Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris currently holds the lead after the latest debate. The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5.

Trump's support for the WLF fits into his strategy of engaging with various segments of American society, especially the rapidly growing crypto community. In recent months, he has increasingly appeared on alternative media and podcasts, seeking to attract the attention of cryptocurrency supporters. The opening of the waiting list confirms the WLF's commitment to advocating for financial and regulatory change.
