According to his October 10th X post, the event is set to be one of the largest web3 events of the year, and he has confirmed his attendance in a personal capacity.
Zhao’s upcoming appearance has generated a lot of buzz in the crypto space, with key figures and projects interested in what he has to say. Tron founder and CEO Justin Sun joined others in welcoming the Binance co-founder.
This will be Zhao’s first public appearance since pleading guilty to violating US anti-money laundering laws and paying a $50 million fine. Binance itself was fined $4.3 billion, one of the largest corporate settlements in US history.
As part of the settlement, Zhao stepped down as Binance’s CEO and spent four months in jail. He is now banned from managing the company for life. However, he still owns 90% of Binance’s shares, keeping him among the richest people in the crypto space with an estimated net worth of $61 billion.
