By December 2024, the number of TON token holders may surpass Ethereum

Analysts note that TON, the native token of the blockchain protocol The Open Network, is quickly strengthening its position among cryptocurrencies. Cryptoquant analyst analyzed the current situation and suggested that the rate of growth of TON owners will allow it to catch up and overtake Ethereum in terms of the number of holders. At the moment, the number of Ethereum users is estimated at 137 million, while TON owners are already 112 million people. On average, over the past month, TON attracted 500,000 new holders daily, which indicates significant interest in the platform.
At the same time, the expert warns that there are several factors that can slow down the growth dynamics of TON. One of these factors could be a possible decrease in the token price, which will affect its attractiveness to new users. If this happens, the moment when the number of TON holders will surpass Ethereum may be postponed to the beginning of 2025.
In addition, the analyst takes into account the stable increase in Ethereum holders, but believes that this factor is temporary. In his opinion, the trend in favor of TON is inevitable, and in the long term, the project has every chance of bypassing Ethereum in terms of the number of users.
2024 was also marked by a significant increase in the TON price, which further indicates the growing interest in this cryptocurrency. From the beginning of the year to June, the token price jumped by 350%, reaching a record high of $8.28. Over the past four months, the price has decreased slightly and is currently $4.95, according to TradingView.
