The head of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's office, Andriy Yermak, believes that it is Israel that can help Ukraine defend itself from drones.
"I believe that today it is Israel that can help Ukraine in protecting itself from Iranian drones. And we very much hope for the creation of a joint initiative on this issue," Yermak said during an online meeting with representatives of Jewish organizations and Israeli media. Israel is among the countries that have condemned the Russian special operation in Ukraine, but the previous and current governments of the Jewish state have consistently refrained from supplying military aid and weapons to Kyiv, limiting themselves only to humanitarian supplies.
Western countries claim that Iran is allegedly supplying drones to Russia for military operations in Ukraine. Moscow and Tehran denied such accusations. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani on December 22 called statements about the transfer of drones to the Russian Federation unfounded and reaffirmed that Tehran did not transfer drones to any side of the conflict.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the topic of Russia's purchase of combat drones from Iran was artificially thrown into the American media.
