According to Bloomberg, the Trump administration is working with blockchain industry leaders to support the development of crypto innovation. The new White House position could, among other things, oversee Trump’s proposed crypto council.

Consulting with the industry

Trump recently discussed crypto initiatives with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong, and also invited Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson to consult in Washington. Hoskinson endorsed Armstrong as a candidate for a leading role in shaping crypto policy, noting his ability to unite the industry.

Regulatory Changes

Trump is considering blockchain proponents for key regulatory positions, including the head of the SEC. Among the candidates named are lawyer Teressa Goody Guillen and former Binance U.S. CEO Brian Brooks.

Many current regulators, such as the SEC's Gary Gensler, plan to leave their posts by January 2025, creating an opportunity for a reshaping of the regulatory environment.
