Trezor wallet sales have surged 600% in a week, following Bitcoin's all-time high of $99,645 on November 22. The company set a new daily sales record that day, surpassing May 2023's figures.

Trezor CCO Danny Sanders attributes the surge to several factors. The US presidential election was a key factor, with Donald Trump's victory potentially leading to more transparent and favorable regulation of the cryptocurrency sector. While there has been no significant change in demand in the US, overall interest in hardware wallets has increased significantly around the world.

The Bitcoin halving in April 2024, which reduced the block reward to 3.125 BTC, has traditionally been a catalyst for growth. As Sanders noted, the price rally expected six months after the halving fully justified the forecasts.

In addition, central banks in the US and Europe began to ease monetary policy by lowering key rates, which increased liquidity in the market and attracted new capital to the crypto industry.

The reduction in reserves on centralized exchanges (CEX) was another confirmation of the trend. In 2024, users withdrew about 427,000 BTC from platforms such as Binance and Coinbase, which reduced their reserves to a six-year low. This process underscores the popularity of the motto “not your keys, not your coins”, which was formed against the background of past collapses of major exchanges.

Trezor competitor Ledger has also seen a significant increase in interest in its products. In the run-up to Black Friday, wallet sales tripled, and the number of transactions increased 3.5 times. According to Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier, the growth continued after the sale, with two consecutive days of record revenue figures exceeding the level reached after the FTX collapse in 2022.

The growing demand for hardware wallets reflects the changing preferences of crypto investors, who are increasingly focused on security and control over their assets.
