Minister Abdonser Hemmati, speaking at an event in Tehran, announced the government’s plans to actively implement cryptocurrency regulations. He noted that this strategy is aimed at minimizing the economic risks associated with the use of digital assets while simultaneously benefiting from their opportunities. Hemmati stressed that the Central Bank of Iran has the necessary authority to manage digital assets, viewing them as an important tool for strengthening the economy.

According to the minister, cryptocurrencies have the potential to stimulate the development of new jobs for the youth and contribute to the increase of the country’s economic assets. Moreover, digital assets can help Iran reduce the impact of international sanctions that limit its participation in traditional financial systems.

Such an initiative demonstrates Iran’s desire to keep up with global economic and technological trends. By regulating the cryptocurrency sector, the country aims to adapt to changes in the global financial system and seize new opportunities for its economic development.
