The Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine has brought charges against the KUNA crypto exchange for possible participation in money laundering, financing illegal activities, and failure to comply with financial control rules. The court based the decision to block the exchange on Article 32 of the Law "On Electronic Communications", but the details of the case were not disclosed.
Mikhail Chobanyan, the founder of KUNA, reported that most of the Internet providers in Ukraine have already complied with the order of the State Special Communications Service. The restrictions affected only Ukrainian users, since the exchange's servers are located in Europe.
According to Chobanyan, the company's representatives were not invited to the court hearing, which deprived them of the opportunity to understand the essence of the claims of the Bureau of Economic Security. Nevertheless, he expressed hope to receive the necessary information in the near future.
Earlier, Chobanyan criticized the actions of the National Bank of Ukraine, accusing it of creating conditions that are detrimental to the development of the crypto market in the country. In his opinion, under current conditions, the development of the crypto industry is becoming virtually impossible.
