Bitget has decided to focus on Lithuania as part of its European expansion strategy. One of the key steps was to register its cryptocurrency operations in the country, which allows the company to operate transparently and securely within the European Union.

Bitget’s Chief Legal Officer, Hong Ng, noted that this move is aimed not only at growing the business, but also at supporting the crypto startup ecosystem in Europe. “We are grateful to European regulators for their leadership in creating a safe and innovative environment for digital technologies,” he emphasized.

The establishment of the hub in Lithuania is in line with Bitget’s overall strategy to enter new markets with a friendly attitude towards cryptocurrencies. In addition to Lithuania, the company has already received licenses in Poland, Italy, and Australia, and has resumed operations in the UK with fully compliant services.

Bitget is actively working to obtain permits in more than 15 countries, which allows it to strengthen its position in various jurisdictions. One of the company's top priorities remains the protection of user assets and ensuring data security.

Hong Ng emphasized that the opening of the center in Lithuania is an important step towards achieving the company's goal of becoming the fastest-growing MiCA-compliant exchange.

Europe is not the only region where Bitget is actively expanding its presence. The company previously stated that India is a priority market for it. Bitget is actively communicating with Indian regulators to comply with licensing requirements. This step is due to the rapid development of the cryptocurrency market in the country, as well as the high level of technical training of the local population.

On a global level, Bitget demonstrates impressive results. As of September 2024, the number of registered users on the platform has tripled to over 45 million, representing a 400% increase since 2023. The growth is particularly noticeable in Africa (1614%), South Asia (729%) and Southeast Asia (216%).

The company is actively implementing innovations. For example, the VietQR payment system was recently integrated, which allows users from Vietnam to make instant transfers, as well as buy cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH and USDT.

To attract new users, Bitget launched a campaign with bonuses and commission refunds for participants, which increased customer engagement.

Expansion in Lithuania and other regions makes Bitget one of the fastest growing exchanges, facilitating the global spread of cryptocurrencies and Web3 solutions.
