The investigation established that over the past seven months, the young man conducted more than 4,000 transactions on the Binance crypto exchange, processing transactions worth 34 billion soums (about $2.6 million). He charged commissions from clients for his services.

The law enforcement agencies were particularly interested in the fact that most of the funds came from pension, salary and credit cards. In this regard, a version appeared that the teenager could be involved in laundering money obtained fraudulently.

Recall that since January 2024, measures to control cryptocurrency transactions have been tightened in Uzbekistan. Fines and prison terms are provided for conducting illegal transactions. All cryptocurrency service providers are required to register, and platforms operating without a license are blocked.

The Uzbek authorities have previously fined the Binance exchange for operating without a permit. In June, a Tashkent resident was sentenced to five days in jail for operating on the platform, while a Notcoin participant spent ten days in custody for attempting to exchange the coins he had earned. Similar warnings were issued to Hamster Kombat users who decided to monetize their rewards.
