AI-powered artificial agents are already changing the digital economy. They create Web3 applications, launch tokens, and interact autonomously with people. By 2025, they will appear in decentralized communities, says JD Seraphine, Web3 AI developer at Raiinmaker.

However, they will face a number of challenges, including technical challenges, regulatory restrictions, and centralization, says Michael Casey, co-founder of the Decentralized AI Society. According to him, without decentralization, the world is at risk of being run by mis-coordinated centralized systems.

The potential number of AI agents on Web3 by the end of 2025 could exceed 1 million, according to a report from VanEck. As of early December 2024, there are already about 10,000 AI agents earning millions of dollars from on-chain activities.

The first areas of application of artificial agents in Web3 will be staking and liquidity management. For example, the ai16z agent, called Eliza, autonomously manages an on-chain liquidity pool with a return of about 60% per year.

However, decentralized AI solutions are still noticeably inferior to centralized models, such as OpenAI's ChatGPT, in terms of speed and computing power. For their successful development, it is necessary to find decentralized solutions for high-quality training and protection of user privacy, adds Seraphine.
