To accommodate the upgrade, Binance will temporarily suspend DASH deposits and withdrawals starting at 19:00 (UTC+8) on the scheduled date. Users are advised to complete all necessary deposits in advance. DASH token trading on the platform will not be interrupted, and the technical aspects of the upgrade will be fully handled by Binance. Once the network stabilizes, deposits and withdrawals will resume.

A network upgrade involves making changes to the protocol to improve the functionality, security, and scalability of the blockchain, or to fix vulnerabilities. Such changes may include bug fixes, new features, or optimizations to existing processes.

A hard fork is a type of upgrade in which the changes are so significant that they lead to incompatibility between the old and new versions of the blockchain. To continue using the network, users must update their software to the latest version. Hard forks are often used to implement major changes, such as increasing scalability or adding new features. Sometimes, disagreements over the direction of an upgrade can lead to the creation of an entirely new blockchain network.

Binance has a history of supporting such upgrades. For example, in November 2020, the exchange successfully supported the BCH hard fork, and in April 2023, the Ethereum Shanghai upgrade, which included key changes such as the ability to withdraw pledged assets.

Users are encouraged to monitor official notifications from Binance and the DASH project team for possible updates and additional information.
