Law enforcement officials discovered that the company, which was registered as a digital asset trading operator, was stealing electricity to operate the equipment. According to preliminary data, the damage caused is estimated at hundreds of millions of baht, which is equivalent to millions of dollars.
One of the company's employees confessed, explaining that the equipment was used for mining at night and turned off during the day to avoid detection of illegal activity.
Police are continuing their investigation and plan to issue arrest warrants for the alleged perpetrators.
Earlier, in August 2024, Thai authorities already shut down an illegal Bitcoin mining farm after local residents complained of frequent power outages.
