The mechanism was first used against two wallets on the Tron blockchain. They were sent injunctions demanding the freezing of assets. The wallets contained a total of 2.65 million USDT, allegedly obtained from victims of online fraud.

The owners of one of the wallets, which contained 1 million USDT, received a token called 2-Jan25-Notice (LDT2JAN25). This token contains an encrypted message containing the text of the court notice.

The court ruled that any transactions from these wallets after receiving the notice will be considered a criminal offense. If the funds are transferred to cryptocurrency exchanges, these platforms will be required to freeze them.

Experts note that the introduction of such a practice will help law enforcement agencies combat illegal operations in the crypto sphere, even without identifying wallet owners. According to analysts, Hong Kong sets an important precedent that can be used in other countries to create a legal basis for regulating crypto assets.
