The first applications presented on the platform were the Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS- game, created based on the popular Japanese manga, the fitness application Superz, as well as a number of social networks and other services that support Web3 technologies. Users will be able not only to interact with content, but also to participate in the trading of digital assets.

The platform is based on the Kaia L1 blockchain, which was developed jointly by LINE NEXT and Kakao, one of the largest South Korean messengers.

According to the company's plans, by the end of 2025 the ecosystem should expand and include more than 1000 blockchain applications.

Line has already established itself as one of the leading messengers in countries such as Japan, Taiwan, and Thailand. By 2024, the platform's audience reached 200 million users. The new initiative is aimed at accelerating the adoption of Web3 technologies in Asian markets.

Earlier, in December 2023, LINE NEXT attracted investments of $140 million to develop the direction related to NFT.
