Hong Kong authorities have identified 45 fake websites created to deceive clients of the HashKey crypto exchange. Regulators said that exchange users have been facing fraud for a long time, and that attackers are trying to lure them to fake pages.
Hash Blockchain, the operator of HashKey, confirmed that all the discovered resources are fraudulent. In response to the threat, the exchange issued a warning to its clients and published examples of fake websites on the X social network. The attackers' main tactic was to slightly change official links, which misled users.
A similar case previously occurred with Uniswap. Scammers took advantage of the interest in the launch of the second layer of Unichain and created a fake page to steal users' crypto assets.
