OS2 is a completely redesigned product, created from scratch for the convenience of users. The marketplace has set a commission of 0.5%, while there is no exchange fee. The new version supports 14 blockchains, including several second-layer solutions on Ethereum, as well as Sony's Soneium, Bored Ape's Apechain, and the recently launched Berachain.

The distribution of SEA tokens will take into account the entire history of user activity on the platform, and not just the latest transactions. Notably, users from the United States will also be able to participate in the airdrop, which is often rare in such initiatives.

The general decline in interest in the NFT market after the peaks of 2021-2022 has also affected OpenSea. At the end of 2023, the company laid off half of its employees, which was a consequence of the decline in trading volumes in the industry. Also earlier this year, a large-scale data leak was reported, as a result of which the email addresses of more than 7 million OpenSea users were leaked online.
