OKX Europe CEO Erald Gus said that the company now offers fully legalized crypto services to more than 400 million users in 28 EEA countries. The entire range of services is provided through the exchange's European hub located in Malta.

According to the press release, the updated platform will comply with regional requirements and will provide clients with:

1 access to over-the-counter and spot trading, as well as bot trading;

2 support for more than 240 cryptocurrencies and over 300 trading pairs, of which more than 60 are euro-related;

3 the ability to deposit and withdraw fiat funds without commission via bank transfers;

4 purchase of digital assets using cards and other popular payment methods.

To improve user experience, the exchange has implemented interface localization, including support for national languages in the mobile app, web version, and support service.

OKX officially received the MiCA license on January 27. Gus noted that "passportization" gives the right to companies licensed in one of the EU countries to provide services throughout the region under a single regulation.

Expanding its presence in Europe is a strategic part of OKX's global growth. In 2024, the exchange entered seven new markets and received four additional operating permits.

According to CoinMarketCap, OKX occupies one of the leading positions among centralized platforms, entering the top 5 in terms of spot trading volume. Over the past 24 hours, this figure exceeded $2.65 billion.

Earlier, Gemini, founded by the Winklevoss brothers, took a similar step, choosing Malta as the main center for operating in accordance with European regulations.
