Bitget CEO Gracie Chen noted that the exchange views Bybit not only as a competitor, but also as a partner. In the spirit of solidarity and for the good of the industry, Bitget transferred 40,000 ETH from its own reserves to help the affected platform. Chen emphasized that if Bybit needs additional assistance, Bitget is ready to provide it.

In addition, Bitget has taken measures to protect the crypto market: the exchange has blacklisted the addresses of the hackers involved in the attack. In order to prevent laundering of the stolen funds, the company promised to block any transactions with these addresses. Bitget's security team has already begun an investigation into the incident.

"We firmly believe in the need to support the community and participants developing the cryptocurrency ecosystem. The recent Bybit hack is the largest in the history of the industry, and we cannot stand by," Chen said.

Earlier, blockchain analyst ZachXBT reported that the North Korean hacker group Lazarus was behind the attack on Bybit. According to him, the attackers used the centralized mixer eXch to launder the stolen cryptocurrency.
