The implementation of this technology in the main network is expected to take place in the second quarter of 2025.

Flashblocks optimizes transaction processing by streaming pre-confirmed blocks at 200 millisecond intervals, which significantly reduces the likelihood of transaction cancellations.

This technology was developed in collaboration with Flashbots, a company specializing in Ethereum solutions and MEV mechanisms. Flashblocks was previously successfully integrated into the Uniswap DEX, which reduced the block generation time in Unichain to 0.25 seconds.

In addition to Flashblocks, the Base team announced two more innovations: Appchains and Smart Wallet Sub Accounts.

Appchains are customized blockchains that operate on the OP Stack as a third layer (L3) within the Base network. They provide a separate block space, allowing resource-intensive applications to scale. At the same time, Appchains support flexible configuration, including the use of their own gas tokens and an individual commission policy.

Smart Wallet Sub Accounts are designed to conveniently manage multiple wallets through a single interface, which simplifies user interaction with decentralized services.

It is worth noting that in January, the Venice AI platform, founded by Eric Voorhees, issued the VVV token based on the Base network.
