Unlocking $3 Billion in Cryptocurrency: March Will Be a Key Month

According to Token Unlocks, more than 32 cryptocurrency projects are preparing for a large-scale asset unlock. The most significant event will be the release of Arbitrum tokens (ARB), which is scheduled for March 16. More than 1 billion ARB will be put into circulation with a total value of about $2.2 billion, which is 87% of the current supply. About 673 million ARB will be transferred to the project team, and the remaining tokens will be received by investors.
Another important event will be the release of Aptos tokens (APT). By March 13, 24.84 million APT will enter the market, which is equivalent to 6.76% of the total volume. At the current rate, their value is approximately $290 million.
In addition, the Sui (SUI) and Optimism (OP) projects are also preparing for a significant emission. On March 3, Sui will issue 34.62 million tokens worth about $58.15 million, and on March 29, Optimism's supply will increase by 24.16 million OP, which is estimated at more than $90 million.
These events are causing concern in the crypto community. For Sui and Optimism, this is not the first token unlock in 2025, and many are concerned that such large-scale issues may put pressure on the market and lead to a decrease in the rates of the corresponding assets in the near future.
