A US federal court has decided to postpone Do Kwon's trial after prosecutors presented a significant amount of new evidence. According to official documents, the hearing, originally scheduled for March 10, will now take place on April 10. This circumstance further complicates the already difficult trial.
According to the prosecution, Do Kwon intentionally misled investors by exaggerating the stability of the Terraform platform he created. This, according to prosecutors, was the cause of one of the largest financial collapses in the history of the crypto industry. During the investigation, four terabytes of materials were collected, which will now be reviewed by Kwon's defense. The lawyers say they will need additional time to analyze such a large amount of information.
Despite the change in the preliminary hearing schedule, the jury trial is scheduled for January 26, 2026. In addition, those affected by the collapse of the Terraform Labs ecosystem can file claims for compensation for financial losses until April 30, 2025.
Recall that Do Kwon was extradited from Montenegro to the United States on December 31, 2024. However, despite the charges of fraud amounting to about $ 40 billion, he continues to insist on his innocence.
