The attack resulted in a message about "suspicious activity" in wallets associated with Kaito and "compromise of part of the token supply." This was likely a reference to KAITO, the project's token intended to reward participants. At the same time, Hu's account posted a warning that "funds are not safe at the moment" and that users should exercise caution.

The fake messages caused the price of KAITO to drop by 10%, but the token's price had fully recovered two hours later.

After the consequences of the hack were fixed, the account owners regained access and deleted the messages published by the attackers. Kaito representatives assured that users' funds remained safe and wallets were not at risk.

Yu Hu confirmed that the project's assets are protected and noted that both X accounts used "high-level security measures," including hardware two-factor authentication. According to him, this attack has similarities with recent incidents that affected other projects, such as Jupiter.

The Kaito team is currently in talks with experts who have experience in similar situations and is open to suggestions to improve security.

Earlier in February, the KAITO price increased by 50% after the airdrop started, despite active selling from large holders.
