According to these data, in February 2024, there were 19.6 million active wallets with stablecoins, and by February 2025, their number exceeded 30 million.
The authors of the report note that in 2024, stablecoins strengthened their role in the financial ecosystem, becoming a key element of interaction between the traditional market and the crypto industry. The growing popularity of these assets is observed in the institutional sector, payment services and decentralized finance (DeFi), which contributed to their wide availability.
The total supply of stablecoins has also increased significantly. If at the beginning of 2024 their total capitalization was $138 billion, then by February 2025 it grew to $225 billion, which is equivalent to 63% growth per year.
Tether's USDT remains the absolute leader among stablecoins by market capitalization, reaching $143 billion. It is followed by USDC from Circle and Coinbase with $58.8 billion. Third place is occupied by Ethena USDe, whose capitalization is about $5.4 billion.
The monthly volume of stablecoin transfers also shows significant growth: if in February 2024 it was $1.9 trillion, then in February 2025 it reached $4.1 trillion, an increase of 115%. However, the average transfer size remained almost unchanged - $676 thousand in 2024 and $683 thousand in 2025.
