Analyst Robert Mitchnick said that approval of staking in Ethereum-based exchange-traded funds could be a key factor in increasing investor interest. He noted that the regulatory process is not that simple, and the new administration will not be able to give immediate permission. However, if the obstacles can be removed, this will increase activity around these investment products.

According to Mitchnick, current ETH-ETFs without staking do not have full investment value. Unlike bitcoin funds, which attract investors due to the convenient storage of assets, existing Ethereum funds do not generate additional income from ownership. Despite this, management companies and exchanges continue to work on introducing staking in Ethereum-based ETFs.

For example, the SEC is already considering the CBOE's application to include staking in the ETH-ETF from 21Shares. In addition, the NYSE has submitted a rule change proposal that could allow Bitwise and Grayscale to integrate staking into their funds, the analyst added.

Mitchnick has also previously suggested that a possible recession in the US could help boost Bitcoin. In his opinion, additional fiscal stimulus measures and liquidity injections could be a catalyst for higher prices for the leading cryptocurrency.
