A screenshot of a letter in which the Bybit exchange allegedly refused to accept a user's deposit, citing a transfer from Trust Wallet as the reason, has gone viral in Russian-language cryptocurrency Telegram channels. One of the popular resources, MarketTwits, posted this screenshot, causing an active discussion among almost 290 thousand subscribers.

Taisiya Romanova, a cryptoanalyst and author of the GFiS Channel, expressed the opinion that even if the letter is genuine, it is probably taken out of context. According to her, it is possible that the user himself mentioned Trust Wallet in a previous message, and the support service only responded to already known information without doing a technical analysis of the source of the transfer. She also drew attention to the fact that in the exchange's own documents, the source of the transfer is designated as "N/A wallet", which does not indicate a specific application.

Romanova explained that it is only possible to accurately determine the type of crypto wallet if a custodial storage is used or the user himself discloses this information during the check related to compliance with the Travel Rule. According to her, in normal mode, Bybit does not track the source of each deposit, and identification of the origin of funds occurs only in cases that raise suspicion and are transferred to the Compliance department.

Thus, the incident, according to the expert, could have been deliberately brought out by the user into the public space, which led to a natural wave of discussion and attempts by the media to increase coverage due to resonance.

Cryptorg platform analyst Andrey Podolyan also commented on the situation, saying that he contacted senior representatives of Bybit. According to him, the exchange denies blocking transfers from Trust Wallet and claims that such a practice is not used. This statement confirms that the information disseminated does not reflect reality and does not indicate real changes in the platform's policy.
