The recently launched Binance Charity initiative has provided support to the affected regions by distributing $1.5 million worth of BNB coins. The payments are intended for users who have verified their identity and address through KYC and Proof of Address procedures. The distribution is scheduled to be completed by April 14.

Changpeng Zhao also announced plans to donate an additional 1,000 BNB at a later date. As part of the aid program, each Binance user from Myanmar who successfully completes the KYC procedure will receive $5 worth of BNB. Residents of the most affected regions will receive a larger aid of $50 in BNB.

For traders in Thailand, access to the program is limited to Gulf Binance users who have passed identification. In this case, each user is given $5 in BNB, while residents of heavily affected areas are provided with payments of $10 in BNB.

Over the past 24 hours, the price of BNB has fallen by 1.15%, reaching $594, while the market capitalization is $84.63 billion. Zhao has previously donated 150 BNB worth $100,000 to support investors who lost money due to the failure of the LIBRA memecoin, which was widely publicized by Argentine President Javier Miley. He also provided assistance to traders who lost money on the collapse of the TST and BROCCOLI memecoins.

In 2023, a number of cryptocurrency companies were also actively involved in charitable initiatives aimed at helping victims of earthquakes in Turkey. One such benefactor was Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who donated $227,000 worth of ether to various charities.
