Fidelity Digital Assets, a subsidiary of the company, will act as a custodian and intermediary for purchase and sale transactions. Representatives of Fidelity Investments noted that the decision to introduce crypto assets into pension plans is due to the growing interest of clients in digital assets and their desire to protect their savings from inflation risks.

Fidelity Investments became a pioneer in the US market, offering investments in cryptocurrencies back in April 2022. At that time, only the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, was available for investment, and users could direct no more than 20% of their pension contributions to its purchase.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Fidelity Investments was completing testing of its own stablecoin. The information came from sources familiar with the company's plans.
