The decentralized exchange Filament was hacked, as a result of which the attackers were able to steal crypto assets worth $572,000. To carry out the attack, complex schemes with orders, large transactions and self-liquidation of positions on several accounts were used, which made it possible to bypass the exchange's security system.

Before the incident, the platform stored client assets worth about $680,000. As soon as the abnormal behavior of the system was recorded, Filament promptly suspended all trading and froze the ability to withdraw funds.

After the attack, the company turned to law enforcement agencies and blockchain security specialists for support. The investigation showed that the stolen funds were withdrawn via the Symbiosis Bridge and then distributed across various platforms, including the FixedFloat service.

To return the assets, Filament approached the hackers with an offer: they could keep 10% of the stolen funds (approximately $57,000) on condition that the remaining amount was returned. The exchange representatives also expressed their willingness to negotiate if the attackers had their own conditions.

In addition, the company is working on analyzing the system logs and creating a compensation plan for users affected by the attack. Particular attention will be paid to COMB pool participants. Filament promised to publish details of the incident in the near future, as well as explain the payment procedure for the victims.

According to statistics provided by analysts from Hacken, in the first three months of 2025 alone, losses from hacks of crypto projects reached $1.98 billion, which is 96% higher than the figures for the same period in 2024. However, attackers do not always manage to escape the consequences: recently, one of the hackers who stole 2,930 ETH from the zkLend protocol lost the funds after falling into the trap of the fake crypto mixer Tornado Cash.
