Thai police officers to be trained in methods of combating crypto crimes

In Thailand, an educational program for police officers, initiated by the FSC organization, is starting, the purpose of which is to increase the level of training of law enforcement officers in the field of cryptocurrency investigations. As part of the course, participants will get acquainted with both theoretical aspects of blockchain and practical situations from real police practice.
The theoretical part of the program includes the basics of blockchain technologies, mechanisms for creating cryptocurrencies and features of their use. Also, the course covers the most common forms of criminal activity, including phishing, financial pyramids and money laundering schemes. The organizers are confident that understanding these processes will allow the police to quickly identify suspicious transactions and prevent the further development of criminal schemes.
The practical part of the course is focused on the analysis of real cases of crypto-fraud. Students will learn to analyze transactions, identify digital traces and use specialized tracking tools such as Chainalysis and Elliptic. These skills should help police officers quickly respond to cyberthreats and restore the chain of suspicious operations.
According to representatives of the FSC, the lack of qualified specialists in law enforcement structures significantly complicates the investigation of complex cases related to cryptocurrencies. The new training course was developed as a response to this challenge and is designed to increase the level of professional training of police officers.
In addition, the FSC previously reminded all operators working with virtual assets (VASP) that the provision of unlicensed services on the territory of the country may result in criminal penalties. Violators face prison terms and a fine of up to 5 million New Taiwan dollars, which is equivalent to approximately $155,900. This warning emphasizes the seriousness of the regulators' approach to ensuring transparency and legality of operations in the crypto sector.
Thus, the launch of the training initiative in Thailand represents an important step towards strengthening the fight against digital crimes and creating a more stable legal infrastructure in the conditions of the growing influence of cryptocurrencies.
