Coinbase has announced plans to open a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina, and hire more than 130 employees over the next six months. According to a company representative, priority will be given to people from the region who will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and customer support.

The choice of this city is due to its status as one of the leading fintech hubs in the United States. A Coinbase representative noted that the local labor market offers significant talent potential, which makes Charlotte an attractive destination for growth and strengthening the company's business presence.

Despite the opening of the new office, the company will continue to adhere to its hybrid employment model. Currently, about 95% of Coinbase employees work remotely or in a hybrid format, combining home work with visiting the office.

The expansion in North Carolina is part of a larger growth strategy. Earlier, the company's CEO Brian Armstrong announced plans to hire about 1,000 new employees in the United States by 2025. He also noted positive changes in the regulatory environment that contribute to the development of the cryptocurrency sector in the country.

According to Stockanalysis, Coinbase currently has 3,772 employees. Hiring another 1,000 specialists will increase this number by 27%, which indicates the scale of the personnel expansion.

In addition, on April 22, it became known that Coinbase is considering obtaining a banking license, which can significantly strengthen its position in the traditional financial sector.

Thus, the company continues to actively invest in the development of infrastructure and expansion of its team, confirming its long-term strategy to strengthen its position in the American market.
