NBC News reports that Jon Ossoff, a Democratic senator from Georgia, has condemned Donald Trump's plans to host a dinner for TRUMP investors. According to Ossoff, such actions "exceed any known basis for initiating impeachment proceedings" since the president is essentially selling access to himself for direct payments. "When the president of the United States takes such a step, it is undoubtedly an impeachable offense," he emphasized.
The planned dinner is scheduled for May 22 and will be held at Trump's private golf club in Washington. The event will feature 220 of the largest TRUMP token holders, and the fifteen leaders by the number of assets will receive special privileges: participation in an exclusive reception and a personal tour of the White House.
Ossoff noted that despite his full support for the impeachment idea, the current composition of the House of Representatives makes such a process unlikely.
At the time of publication, the price of the TRUMP token was $14.95. Over the past week, the price has grown by 76.7%, which was largely facilitated by the news of the upcoming dinner. After the announcement of the event, interest in the token increased significantly, spurring its price.
Also, let us recall that earlier in April, one of the largest TRUMP investors sold his entire token package for $5.48 million, securing a profit of more than $480,000. If he had kept the assets until the announcement of the gala dinner, his earnings would have exceeded $4.5 million.
