The Trump family continues to strengthen its influence in the crypto space: TRUMP and MELANIA tokens now account for 95.13% of the entire political memecoin market cap. According to CoinGecko, the combined value of these assets exceeds $3.09 billion, which underlines the dominance of this couple in the PolitiFi niche.
The PolitiFi category covers cryptocurrencies created in honor of politicians, parties, or ideologies. Despite the controversial reputation of such assets, it was the involvement of Donald and Melania Trump in early 2025 that attracted the community's attention to them.
TRUMP, a token launched on January 17, 2025, based on the Solana network, became a sensation. Its value has increased sharply, and its capitalization has reached $11.74 billion. The TRUMP rate has risen above the $75 mark, especially against the backdrop of Trump's inauguration as president.
However, two days later, a new round of development in the sector occurred - Melania Trump presented her own memecoin called MELANIA. Interest in it was overwhelming: just half an hour after the launch, the token reached a capitalization of $4 billion. This led to a sharp drop in TRUMP by 40%, as the attention of traders and investors abruptly switched to the new asset.
However, TRUMP did not remain in the shadows for long. Donald Trump recently announced a closed dinner for 220 of the largest token holders, which immediately caused a wave of interest and provoked a 70% increase in price. This decision by the president strengthened the position of TRUMP and again attracted the attention of the crypto community.
Both TRUMP and MELANIA are currently setting the tone in the political memecoin space. Their influence is so great that other assets in the segment have virtually no chance of gaining a significant market share.
Thus, the PolitiFi sector is increasingly associated with the Trump family brand, and investors are increasingly considering these memecoins as a way not only to make money, but also to become part of the political phenomenon personified by the former US president and his wife.
