Crypto com has received approval to expand its investment services in the European Union by securing a license under the EU’s Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID). The move came after Cypriot financial regulator CySEC sanctioned the company’s acquisition of locally licensed broker A.N. Allnew Investments Ltd.
Allnew is licensed by CySEC to provide investment and ancillary services in various classes of financial assets. With this merger, Crypto com can now offer users across Europe access to products such as securities, derivatives, contracts for difference, and other financial instruments that comply with European regulatory requirements.
This is not the first regulatory achievement for Crypto com in 2025. Earlier in January, the platform successfully obtained a license under the Markets in Crypto Assets Act (MiCA), which allowed it to provide services throughout the European Economic Area. At that time, the company outlined an ambitious course to expand its presence in the traditional financial markets of the EU.
According to Crypto com CEO and co-founder Chris Marszalek, obtaining MiFID and MiCA licenses significantly strengthens the company's position as a provider of comprehensive and regulated financial solutions. He noted that since receiving the MiCA license, the exchange has been actively increasing its presence in Europe and is now ready to offer users new ways to interact with the platform.
The MiFID license is the latest addition to Crypto com's collection of international permits. The company has recently made a number of strategic acquisitions, including such organizations as Fintek Securities, Charterprime, Orion Principals and US-registered broker-dealer Watchdog Capital.
In addition, this week Crypto com, in collaboration with investment firm Canary Capital, launched the first U.S.-regulated investment fund based on the exchange’s native token, CRO. The new fund, called Canary CRO Trust, is another confirmation that Crypto com is actively integrating into the traditional financial system, not limited to cryptocurrency products.
