Kazakhstani regulators have announced the creation of a network of officially approved cryptocurrency exchangers. These platforms will operate on the basis of a legal framework that is being developed as part of the formation of the country's digital financial ecosystem. As noted by the representative of the National Bank, Erlan Ashykbekov, the list of cryptocurrencies that such exchangers will be able to work with will be determined by the regulator itself.

According to Ashykbekov, the main goal of the initiative is to protect the interests of investors, as well as the development of new financial solutions based on digital assets. He also noted that control over platforms related to digital financial assets (DFA), including the issuance of stablecoins, will be concentrated in the hands of the National Bank.

The jurisdiction of the Astana International Financial Center (AIFC), where certain crypto companies are already operating, will remain independent. However, they will be required to establish interaction with new operators who have received a license to work with cryptocurrencies.

As for the digital financial assets themselves, their integration into the existing financial infrastructure is planned. Their circulation will be organized with the help of the Central Depository and the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange, which will give digital instruments transparency and legitimacy.

Earlier, the head of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov emphasized that the country is seeing a steady increase in interest in cryptocurrencies from both citizens and businesses. This, in his opinion, makes it necessary to create a regulated mechanism for crypto exchange that can ensure transparency and security of transactions.

It is expected that the new exchange platforms will not only legalize the circulation of digital assets, but also open up new opportunities for financial innovation and attracting investment in the economy of Kazakhstan.
