A new form of cryptocurrency scam involving remote work offers has been discovered in Fiji. The Anti-Fraud Squad reported that the scammers are sending out iMessage messages on behalf of a non-existent company called Seek HR Management. The scammers promise earnings of between Fijian dollars (approximately $88–$665) per day for supposedly fifteen minutes of remote work.

According to law enforcement, under the guise of installing crypto ATMs in the cities of Suva and Lautoka, people are being offered remote assistant positions. These offers often include a call to add the “recruiter” on WhatsApp for more details.

One typical text reads: “I’m an HR manager at Seek. We are installing crypto ATMs in Suva and Lautoka. We are currently looking for 20 remote assistants. The work is only 15 minutes a day, and the income is from 200 to 1,500 Fijian dollars. Contact me on WhatsApp."

Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji Manoa Kamikamica said that the scale of cryptocurrency fraud in the country has become a serious threat. He noted that criminals are becoming increasingly inventive and know how to inspire trust. Kamikamica warned that citizens should be especially careful with offers that ask for financial information or ask to pay money in advance.

The Anti-Fraud Group emphasizes: "Unrealistic promises of easy money are a trap. People can not only be deceived, but also drawn into illegal activities. To protect yourself, it is necessary to verify such offers with official sources." The Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit has previously reported on another type of crypto scheme, in which criminals create fake profiles on behalf of famous people and government agencies to lure users to dubious platforms.

Fiji authorities are urging the public to exercise extreme caution and not trust offers that seem too good to be true.
