The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian Startup Fund announced the launch of the Sandbox initiative — an experimental platform for testing solutions in the field of blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence. This step is aimed at supporting startups, developing the digital economy and forming a progressive legislative field in technological areas.

The program offers participants a free audit of their products, as well as expert advice on legal, business and technical issues. The key goal of the project is to help technology companies adapt their solutions to the requirements of both Ukrainian and international legislation, including EU standards.

According to Mykhailo Fedorov, head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation and Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, the initiative is beneficial for both the state and business. He noted that startups get the opportunity to finalize their developments with the participation of industry experts, and the state gets access to advanced technologies, including solutions that are potentially useful for the public sector.

Ukrainian companies working with AI and blockchain, whose products are applicable in various industries, from medicine and education to agro-industry, defense and digital infrastructure, are invited to participate. As Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov noted, there are currently more than 2,600 startups in Ukraine, of which almost a fifth appeared after the start of a full-scale war. This confirms the survivability and potential of the Ukrainian technology ecosystem.

Sandbox will allow startups not only to test their products in conditions close to real ones, but also to enhance investment attractiveness. Participation in the project also opens the way to international expansion, in particular, due to compliance with European compliance requirements.

Product evaluation and consultations will be carried out by experienced specialists: lawyers, analysts and subject matter experts in artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. The project is experimental and is designed until October 2026. In case of successful implementation and high demand among startups, it can be extended and become a permanent element of the Ukrainian innovation infrastructure.

Companies interested in participating can apply through the Ukrainian Startup Fund website.
