French company Blockchain Group has announced plans to raise $340 million to increase its Bitcoin holdings. The firm currently holds 1,471 BTC, equivalent to about $158 million, and plans to continue adding to its holdings.
The funding will be structured using the ATM (at-the-market) model, which is widely used in the United States. Under this model, the company’s shares will be sold at current market prices, and the transactions themselves will be carried out through a third-party counterparty. At the same time, each daily transaction is limited to 21% of the daily trading volume.
The pricing mechanism in this case uses either the previous day’s closing price or the weighted average for the current day, depending on which is higher. This approach allows for increasing the share of Bitcoin while minimizing pressure on the market, which is especially important for institutional investors, who are the target of the company's strategy.
On June 3, 2025, Blockchain Group already made a significant purchase of cryptocurrency in the amount of $68 million, which generated interest in its further steps. After that, the company's reserves reached 1471 BTC, and, apparently, the organization is not going to stop - especially against the backdrop of stable prices on the market.
Such actions demonstrate a trend that is gaining momentum in both Europe and the United States. For example, the American company MicroStrategy recently announced plans to raise $980 million for similar purposes. This is four times more than previously announced, and emphasizes the strategic importance of cryptocurrency for large players.
Significant events are also taking place in the Asian market: Metaplanet announced its readiness to invest a record $5.4 billion in Bitcoin. This became part of their large-scale initiative called the 210 Million Plan.
Thus, there is a rapidly growing interest in Bitcoin as a long-term investment asset on a global scale. Blockchain Group’s latest initiative only confirms the general trend, according to which digital currency is increasingly perceived as a tool for strategic accumulation.
