A large-scale study commissioned by Openreach has found Liverpool to be the city with the greatest interest in cryptocurrencies in the UK. The survey showed that 13% of local residents actively invest in digital assets and follow stock market fluctuations more often than residents of other regions of the country.

While London has become the leader in the number of users of dating services, and Sheffield has stood out for its activity on TikTok and streaming platforms, Liverpool has taken a confident position in terms of involvement in the crypto market and bitcoin trading. Manchester has given preference to Instagram, and Leeds residents spend more time on Facebook (NASDAQ:META).

On average, Britons spend about three and a half hours on the Internet every day. At the same time, every fifth participant in the study admitted that their time online exceeds five hours a day. Night surfing turned out to be especially popular: 64% of respondents go online between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. During this period, YouTube is especially popular - 19% of users visit it.

The survey also revealed alarming trends related to digital fatigue. Almost half of the participants (43%) said that they waste a significant part of their time online uselessly. Another 37% are concerned about succumbing to the so-called "endless scrolling" of the feed. Every third believes that reducing the time spent online would help them feel calmer and more relaxed.

Thus, the study reflects not only the growing interest of the British in investing in digital assets, but also the awareness of the need for a more conscious approach to using the Internet. Liverpool, which has become the crypto capital, is an example of how the digital economy is changing the daily habits of residents.
