AgriFORCE, agribusiness specialist, has opened a Bitcoin mining facility in Alberta that runs on associated gas. The facility is located in the city of Berwyn and is initially operating with a capacity of 425 kW. The farm is equipped with 120 Bitmain S21 ASIC miners for cryptocurrency mining, with a combined hashrate of over 32 PH/s. In the next stage, the company plans to expand the capacity by another 200 kW.
In addition, AgriFORCE has entered into a partnership agreement with BlueFlare, which provides for the creation of additional sites with a capacity of 1.3 MW in the same province. These capacities will be used not only for Bitcoin mining, but also for tasks in the field of artificial intelligence and other computing.
AgriFORCE CEO Jolie Kan emphasized that their project is characterized by the speed of implementation: “We do not wait for approvals and do not depend on the modernization of the power grid - we transform gas into computing power in weeks, not years.”
The company sets ambitious goals for increasing the hash rate. By the end of 2025, it plans to reach 0.5 EH / s, and by the first quarter of 2026 - to increase the figure to 1 EH / s.
To date, AgriFORCE has already mined about 7 bitcoins at its facilities in Alberta and Ohio, which is approximately $ 735,000 at the current exchange rate. In accordance with the adopted strategy, the company intends to keep up to half of the mined coins in reserve, and use the rest to expand the business. In addition, the company plans to use up to 50% of the attracted investments for the direct purchase of bitcoin.
It is worth noting that in May 2024, the American company Genesis Digital Assets also opened a data center in Argentina, where bitcoin mining is carried out using energy from the combustion of associated gas.
Thus, AgriFORCE is among those enterprises that apply environmentally friendly and cost-effective solutions for mining, using energy that would otherwise be wasted. This allows not only to reduce the carbon footprint of cryptocurrency mining, but also to significantly increase the profitability of projects.
